Tango Announces Mobile Network Presence and Location Information for Unified Communications Systems

Tango Networks (News - Alert) announcement today that it has upgraded its product Abrazo solution by enhancing support for publishing mobile network presence and location information for any mobile phone to unified communications systems. The solution will help unified communications systems share status information with contacts, allow intelligent routing decisions for phones, and soft clients, and for automatic presence status determination.

Based on the company's strategy of delivering a seamless user experience from any mobile phone with any unified communications system, this upgraded functionality improves fixed-mobile convergence.

Andrew Silver, co-founder and CTO of Tango Networks, said, "While there are many market offerings that provide presence information on mobile phones, the current solutions are inherently limited." He also added, "Tango Networks securely manages the network presence and location information only accessible through mobile operators, and, without the need for device clients or mobile data subscriptions, is able to complete the seamless unified communications experience."

With improved hybrid architecture of the Tango Abrazo, network location information for any mobile phone can now be delivered to existing unified communications presence servers, providing a complete view of an end user's availability and location without relying on mobile handset clients. These presence servers can automatically determine presence status to take smart routing decisions for benefit mobile operators and enterprises.

Abrazo is based on a unique hybrid architecture that maintains a component in the enterprise network and a component in the mobile operator network. This allows the solution to monitor mobile device status in the network, like registered or unregistered, on or off-the-phone, location etc., and provide updates to unified communications servers. Also, any mobile phone with or without data connectivity can be part of the unified communications.

Tango Networks can integrate mobile phone to become a PBX extension on the enterprise network. Tango Abrazo is cost saving and provides advanced desk phone capabilities on mobile device.
