Anthony Marano Company, a produce distribution company, is using Agito RoamAnywhere Mobility Router to improve the reliability and quality of its infrastructure for voice communications.
Located near downtown Chicago, Anthony Marano Company serves the Midwest with fresh produce from its distribution center. The 400,000 square foot facility contains 73 docks to receive and ship more than 1,400 types of fresh produce.
Now with Agito's RoamAnywhere, Anthony Marano enables continuous high-quality voice coverage for its mobile staff, which needs to be accessible at all times to receive and fulfill orders throughout the day.
Anthony Marano has deployed Agito RoamAnywhere with an aim to enhance productivity of its sales staff, buyers and management team.
"We are more successful and make more money when our buyers and sales staff get calls the first time around, and calls don't land in voice mail,” said Christopher Nowak, CTO at Anthony Marano. “In addition to addressing our coverage issues, we also need superior voice quality since our handheld devices will be the primary means of communication for our employees. Agito's unique seamless handoff capability promises to be a technological leap from previous solutions we have seen and tried."
Anthony Marano's large metal and concrete facility makes cellular communications impossible for the staff, which is constantly on the move between inside produce areas, shipping docks, receiving docks and internal offices. Accessibility is critical because the staff deals with fresh produce, a perishable commodity. Up to 3,000 produce orders are placed and fulfilled each day, and approximately 90 percent of orders are shipped the day they are received. With Agito, Anthony Marano will be able to respond quickly to calls.
"We are pleased to be working with them to ensure that their sales and purchasing staffs have high-quality synchronous communication to ensure their responsiveness and the viability of their business,” said Jeff Dolce (
