ExtendMedia Unveils OpenCASE 3.0, Digital Content Service Delivery Platform

ExtendMedia Corporation announced the availability of its end-to-end digital content service delivery platform, OpenCASE 3.0. This will streamline the management, publishing and delivery of content across multiple platforms like PCs, televisions and mobile devices.

OpenCASE 3.0 enables telecommunication, media, and consumer electronics companies to deliver engaging, consumer-facing digital content through various service models, including streaming, secure retail and on-demand offerings. ExtendMedia’s (News - Alert) flexible monetization capabilities can also support multiple business models like pay media, subscriptions, rentals and ad-supported ones.

“Delivering the next generation of consumer media experiences will entail distributing content across the TV, PC and mobile screens and supporting it with multiple business models,” said Anton Denissov, a digital media analyst with Parks Associates. “To successfully create such experiences, media companies and service providers need robust, flexible and scalable distribution solutions that can blend multiple technologies and business models while remaining transparent to the consumer.”

OpenCASE 3.0 helps content and service providers to control their business with rules pertaining to content service lifecycle including ingestion, metadata management, encoding, encryption, packaging, pricing, ad insertion, syndication, distribution and promotion, from a modular, workflow-driven interface.

Keith Kocho (News - Alert), president and founder of ExtendMedia clarified that OpenCASE provides the tools necessary for both an established content owner selling directly to consumers, offering them premium, high-quality downloaded content and a distributor launching an ad-supported streaming video service.

Service providers will be able to flexibly handle changing market needs, such as pay media and advertising, and an open architecture to integrate with existing systems. OpenCASE is expected to continue being a trusted foundation which enables providers to build their digital media businesses.

OpenCASE 3.0 offers many capabilities which meet the needs of a changing online video market including Ad Server/Ad Network Integration with OpenCASE AdBridge SDK. This allows service and content providers to leverage existing Ad Serving/Ad Network platforms.

Content delivered using P2P brings down service provider bandwidth costs which help HD content to be delivered cost effectively. A product catalog is published using ATOM or MediaRSS feeds enabling integration with third-party solutions like Advertising Campaign Managers, Streaming Players, Desktop Players and catalog indexing by Search Engines.

Administrators can handle product catalogs and manage in-screen ingestion processes via enhanced search and product/asset management. The Modular Player Platform expands customization capabilities making branding easy by quick skinning using fonts, graphics, colors, layout changes and social network support. Multiple OpenCASE powered solutions can run as separate service applications on the same PC so that customers can brand and customize applications according to requirements.

ExtendMedia’s digital content service delivery platform allows creation, control and delivery of high-quality digital media content across broadband, TV and mobile devices in both paid media and ad-supported formats. It caters to innovative communications, media and consumer electronics companies like AT&T (News - Alert), Bell, HP and SanDisk besides others.
