Tangoe Reports Record Sales Volume and Revenue in First Quarter

Tangoe (News - Alert) reported record volume for direct and indirect sales during the first quarter of this year, which ended March 31.

Tangoe, a global provider of enterprise communications lifecycle management software and technology, won 33 direct and indirect deals in the first quarter, reflecting the company’s increasing customer base diversification and surging growth in integrated, fixed- and mobile-related business.

“Our performance is a confluence of factors – a perfect storm if you will – that have come together to fuel our growth in early 2008,” said Al Rossini, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Tangoe.

“A key factor has been a growing proliferation and dependence on mobile and wireless devices within enterprises, which has considerably driven-up costs and complexity. Tangoe’s strategic decision to integrate our wireless and wireline services into one seamless offering has, as proven by our record setting quarter, met with overwhelming market acceptance. In today’s economic climate, companies are renewing their efforts to boost operational efficiencies and wring maximum costs out of their voice, data, and wireless expenses.”

More than 15 percent of new business originated from international clients with headquarters outside of the United States, and about 50 percent of the managed services deals sold by the company’s direct sales force were for the combined management of both fixed and mobile communications.

Riding strong momentum last year – when the company saw a record number of new bookings, client proposals, and RFP responses – Tangoe pointed to the release of its CommCare managed services in 2007 as a key growth driver. In fact, 90 percent of the company’s first quarter direct deals involved components of CommCare’s suite of managed services and consulting services.

A significant component of Tangoe’s first quarter performance was attributed to strong sales of technology-based managed services in regions outside the United States. A high percentage of international sales involved mobile communication management services, due to the advanced international mobile infrastructure and increasing dependence on mobile communications and mobile computing devices.

With multi-currency capabilities, international display formats, international carrier bill mapping capabilities, and language localization, Tangoe’s technologies have enabled international partners to provide effective expense management services within their regions.

Tangoe’s CommCare suite of managed services provides organizations with the visibility and control needed to effectively and efficiently manage fixed, mobile, and converged communications throughout their global enterprise. Built upon Tangoe’s patented CMP automation technology, the integrated suite of offerings provides a best-of-breed, single source solution for optimizing operational efficiencies, mitigating risk, and slashing costs for fixed, mobile, and converged enterprise communications.

Tangoe, based in Orange, Conn., provides software and technology-driven services that enable global organizations to procure, manage, and control their fixed, mobile, and converged communications assets and costs. Tangoe’s software and service solutions are built upon patented technologies that enable dramatic cost reductions and process efficiencies, which significantly contribute to organizational profitability.
